What We've Been Doing - Autumn Term 1

Friday 5th October

This week in our topic lessons we have been pretending to be Samuel Pepys to imagine what it would've been like during the Great Fire of London. We looked at Samuel Pepys' diary extracts and then we wrote our own.

We have also created stunning silhouettes of the Great Fire of London - you might have seen some of these on our classroom windows. Please come in at the end of the day if you would like to see them all.

We had a lots of fun painting poppies on bricks for the new housing development in Bingham. The children are excited about being part of this big project.

Here are a selection of the children's diaries and photos of their painted bricks. Please click on the thumbnails to enlarge the photos - then use the left and right arrow keys to scroll through the gallery.

Friday 14th September

Over the holidays we had a fantastic time researching "The Great Fire of London". We made models, wrote fact sheets, drew pictures, printed information and some of us even visited London to find out more about it! We had a great time sharing our homework with both our friends in Oak as well as Sycamore class.

A huge thank you to everyone who completed their topic homework. It was lovely to see so many different ways of children representing their research.
