Our Royal Wedding Celebrations (18th May 2018)

This morning, we made commemorative plates to celebrate the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. We decorated paper plates with the faces of Prince Harry and Meghan which we painted. We also used Union flags and other decorations with paint.

This afternoon, We made our own Union flags to help us celebrate at our tea party.

We celebrated in many ways including: making bunting, designing a wedding cake, singing songs, designing a wedding dress and had a go at ballroom dancing. We have really enjoyed joining in the wedding celebrations.

We learnt about Prince Harry and his family.

On Tuesday, we made our very own smoothies. Before we made them we tasted fruit to decide what to put in our smoothie. We cut our fruit up and when we finished we put it in a cup. Mrs Passmore helped us blend the fruit with juice in the blender. When it came out of the blender it went mushy and smooth. We drank our smoothies. Some of us thought the smoothies were scrumptious and some of us thought the smoothies were disgusting. If you would like to see photos of us with our smoothies, please look at our Superhero topic page.

In Literacy, we have been writing instructions for other people to learn how to make out smoothies. We worked really hard and we were proud of our writing.

In Maths, we have been learning how to double. We have been using different strategies. For example: using cubes, jottings, a number line or knowing them in our head. We need to continue practise doubling so we can know them without working them out.

We have enjoyed PE this week. We have been learning about tennis and maypole dancing and have been practising these skills.
